'Change and Adapt' this Discovery Day
This week celebrated Discovery Day, tying in with British Science Week.
This week's theme was 'Change and Adapt' and pupils across the school got stuck in with the timetabled sessions.
On offer were flood defence building in Maths, transforming canvas prints in Art, designing a Mars Lander in Science, programmable Lego adaptations in ICT and a session with the Whitby Lobster Hatchery.
Days like this promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) to our pupils and open up new opportunities for learning experiences. It offers a hands on approach to learning in the classroom and can open up discussions about future career prospects.
Well done to everyone for getting involved.
