Welcome to West Kirby School and College where our teaching, clinical and whole school staff team are enthused by the opportunity to support, help and enable children and young people. Our motto is 'Changing children's lives'.

In February we celebrated the cultural occasion of Lunar New Year, with activities organised by Ms Cui, Mandarin Teacher.
In a first for us, we have been awarded the T.I.C. (Tourette's Inclusion in the Community) Friendly Schools Accreditation.
Our Primary Department have embarked on a new and meaningful initiative, the ‘Reading in the Community’ project, which aims to promote reading for pleasure and oracy skills.
The Primary nativity performance was a highlight of our Christmas period.
Pathfinders, Adventurers and Navigators embarked on a snowy trip to the Chill Factore in Manchester for an end of term enrichment day.

It's been a week of community links! Our highlight was welcoming a pupil for work experience into The School Bakery, from our working partners St Vincents School. They slotted right in and the help was much appreciated. Our curriculum and wide range of qualifications relevant to our pupils' needs, is designed to enable our young people to reach their potential. We provide our pupils with aspirational opportunities, academic and vocational, with over 19 subject choices at GCSE or equivalent.
We provide a holistic approach to our pupils', integrating education and therapeutic support, to support both learning and our young people's complex special educational needs. Our Support Services include Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Pastoral Care, Reading Support and Home School Liaison.
Pupils' differences, individual talents and skills are celebrated and nurtured. We aim to develop our pupils' self-esteem and encourage them to take pride in all their achievements. Our safe and accepting space also allows pupils to express themselves so they feel part of our community.
At West Kirby School wellbeing activities are part of our weekly curriculum. Every Friday afternoon is dedicated to wellbeing and our pupils are involved in adventures and activities on and off site.
We believe we have a unique school community at West Kirby School, with a sense of acceptance and belonging. We’re also proud of close relationships and good communications with parents and carers and beyond.
