New Pupil Voice team
This term saw a newly formed Pupil Voice group, led by Miss Hercules, she told us more about it:
“Pupil Voice is made up of elected representatives who meet once every half term to discuss ways to improve life at West Kirby School and College.
It's a great forum to enable our students to have a real say in what can be improved at our school. Ideas are listened to through our half termly agenda and minutes are written up and distributed to the whole school. We have an elected chairperson who chairs the meetings and keeps good order.
Some of the issues that have been brought to Pupil Voice and acted upon include: Recycling, food choices, bids for a new stage, school rules, water fountains, fundraising, anti-bullying, option choices, residential holidays and school uniform.
Our young people thoroughly enjoy being a part of Pupil Voice, paving the way for increased participation in society, the value of democracy, local and global citizenship and leadership and development opportunities.”
